Tom Stern – President

Tom has been active in retail, office and investment real estate since 1967 and has been involved in the development of more than 500,000 square feet of retail properties. In addition, Tom has participated in the purchase/sale of more than $500 million of real estate and has arranged financing for more than $750 million worth of properties.

Tom served as Executive Chairman of Gershman Commercial Real Estate from 2013 until October 2022 when he became Chairman Emeritus in recognition of his 50 years of distinguished service to the company.

His current focus is overseeing the asset management services across the portfolio of retail and office properties owned by the Gershman family in the St. Louis region.

Bruce Brophy, CCIM, RPA – Executive Vice President, Asset Management

Bruce joined Gershman Commercial Real Estate in 2011 and currently serves as an Executive Vice President overseeing asset management services across the 1+ million square foot retail/office portfolio owned by the Gershman family in the St. Louis region. He was previously a principal of Coldwell Banker Commercial CRA LLC. Under his supervision, the management division provided management and maintenance services, as well as leasing and construction activities. In addition, Bruce was actively involved in overall operations of the firm.

Bruce has enjoyed the opportunity to represent many institutional and local owners in all aspects of commercial real estate management and brokerage. During his career, he has overseen the management and leasing of notable high rise office buildings such as Pierre Laclede Center and Gateway Tower, and has supervised the management of a wide variety of retail, industrial, and office assets acrossthe St. Louis area. He also led the development of Safety National’s corporate headquarters in Maryland Heights along with their expansion into other markets across the country.
