Tom Stern – Chairman & CEO

Tom has been active in retail, office and investment real estate since 1967, has been president of Gershman Commercial Real Estate from 1993 until 2013, and currently serves as Executive Chairman of Gershman Commercial Real Estate. He has been involved in the development of more than 500,000 square feet of retail properties. In addition, Tom has participated in the purchase/sale of more than $100 million of real estate, and has arranged financing for more than $250 million worth of properties.

He has represented buyers and sellers in numerous investment property transactions, and has raised millions of dollars of equity capital through property syndication.

Tom is past Eads Award winner from the Missouri Growth Association, member of the Midwest Real Estate News “Hall of Fame” and Realtor of the Year for the Commercial Division of the St. Louis Association of Realtors.

Christopher R. Fox, CCIM, SIOR – President

Chris Fox has been actively involved in the commercial real estate business since 1992. Chris joined Cushman & Wakefield of Missouri, Inc. in 1998 and played an instrumental role in the creation of Gateway Commercial, an independently owned firm and member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, where he served as a Partner and Managing Director. Chris joined Gershman Commercial Real Estate in 2013 as the Executive Vice President of Transactions and Advisory Services, where he was directly responsible for all facets of Gershman’s brokerage, transaction and advisory services division, including formation of the firm’s investment subsidiary, Gershman Commercial Equities in 2015.  He was elevated to President and CEO of Gershman in 2019. Chris brings a wide range of experience to Gershman, that includes investment sales of both single commercial properties and portfolio’s exceeding 400,000 square feet and he has been actively involved in the acquisition of over $162 million of investment property through Gershman Commercial Equities.

Brian Levine – Director of Asset Management

Brian, as Director of Asset Management, serves as a fiduciary for the portfolio of real estate under the supervision of Gershman Commercial Equities.  That portfolio is comprised primarily of real estate owned by the Gershman family and other affiliated entities.  His professional role is supported by an entrepreneurial heritage comprising generations of the Gershman family  and the services of Gershman Commercial Real Estate, a multi-disciplined real estate service firm providing comprehensive brokerage, property management and accounting services for the portfolio.  He oversees the timely acquisitions & dispositions of assets with an emphasis on maximizing portfolio value.

A St. Louis native, Brian has a background in real estate valuation, as well as extensive experience in settlement services operations and business development.  He has been an active member of the real estate community since 2004, and co-founded the national real estate based valuation firm Springhouse Appraisal Management.  Prior to his role with Gershman Commercial Equities, Brian lead the real estate valuation business segment for a multi-national Settlement Services and Real Estate Technology firm.

Brett R. Allen – Director, Acquisitions & Investments

Brett serves as Director of Acquisitions and Investments at Gershman Commercial Equities. His primary responsibilities include the underwriting, analysis and due diligence of investment properties, as well as the sourcing of investment opportunities in the marketplace.

Brett was raised in St. Louis, attended Westminster Christian Academy, then studied at Baylor University in Waco, TX. He studied Film and Digital Media. After graduating, Brett worked on a technology startup in Austin, TX before taking an executive non-profit role in Houston, TX. Brett returned to St. Louis in 2017 to begin a career in commercial real estate. Prior to joining the team at Gershman Commercial Equities, Brett worked as a retail broker with Retail Realty Group.

Brett is passionate about the city of St. Louis. He supports several charities throughout in the area including Rainbow Village, Ranken Jordan, Catch 22, Haven of Grace and others. Brett is also actively involved with Revival School – a nonprofit that serves refugee children in the city of St. Louis by offering artistic outlets.
